How I Survived the First Trimester | Battling Anxiety, Depression and Morning Sickness Alone
So..I am PREGNANT! I am sure many of you already saw the news that I shared on my social media.
I have kept this a secret for quite some time because honestly, a private pregnancy is a peaceful pregnancy. But I definitely feel ready to share my story and continued pregnancy journey with you all.
I hope my experience helps someone else to feel less alone if they/you are experiencing any of the symptoms that I did. I promise, although it doesn't feel like it things do get better.

Culture Shock in the U.S.A | Why are Americans SO loud?
Переглядів 1,6 тис.Рік тому
I thought it was about time I share my (often very controversial) opinions on the U.S.A. Now, I am by no means complaining because I love life here. But there were, and still are, quite a few things that shock me about America. I am comparing America to both Korea and the U.K. Did you experience culture shock when you moved to a new country? Or, did you experience reverse culture shock when you...

    How I adore frankness. You said real things about Korea that were not recognized by some foreign UA-camrs who live there. There is really racism in every country, but I adore that you did not leave your animals behind. You brought them with you. You are a kind-hearted girl.

    I’m so sorry that you had bad experiences in Korea :( I’m Korean, and I lived in the UK while doing my master. I do agree with your point of having limited access to foreigners with friendship and jobs in Korea. But please do not generalise- I also suffered from mold at a house/apartment A LOT in the UK + energy crisis, water shortage and etc. I haven’t experienced mold that much while living in Seoul throughout my life more than 20 yrs. And If you live in the centre of a big city, I think it would be pretty much similar anywhere in the world and also depends on where you live. For racism, I’m so sorry about that, but I also experienced the same thing in the UK as an Asian. I could feel hostility with no reason at many public spaces like a market, cafe stall, restaurant and sometimes even in my uni. I’m so sorry to tell you this but I could tell many races and ethnic backgrounds in the UK who are not ‘White’ would have experienced this discrimination A LOT.. I’m sorry for this expression, but I hope the experience in Korea might have given you the empathy to the sadness of other races/foreigners.. I do miss living in the UK and ppl there, and I really appreciate being there and even wish have more working experience there. There’s pros and cons in any country, so I hope you could bring more good memories in Korea :) Thank you for sharing your story and sorry for your bad experience again!

    Duct tape and car parts missing will get you pulled over by the police. Some people just don't care. I'm from Texas, and the only thing that we don't have that other states have are bike lanes. It's due to many reasons. Many towns and cities have them here but not all. In texas, we have different environments, and the speed is higher than Colorado. It would be dangerous to have that here. Some towns don't have busses or other forms of transportation due to lack of funds. We have dog parks in every city here and almost in all towns. I have never seen a dog attack another. In texas, we don't really have a homeless problem. The homeless people we have are drifters or people pretending to be homeless. Anyways, Colorado is a good place. I have friends there.

    • @dudoklasovity2093

      america version of sarcasm is not really a sarcasm at all. Americans are soooo afraid to say things so they don’t offend anyone😂

    • @zechariahsanders8273
      @zechariahsanders8273 5 місяців тому

      @@dudoklasovity2093 No, it really IS sarcasm, it's just a different sense of sarcasm. Just as a lot of more subtle British sarcasm isn't understood by Americans, a lot of American sarcasm isn't going to be understood by a Brit. It's just that what you see in media is NOT that, and is the outright obvious sarcasm

    I'm korean American living in the US and everything you said really resonated with me. Koreans are a very rigid and closed minded society. They really are not open minded and cannot handle people from all over the world. Korea is a small country with small minded people. I would live in England over Korea any day. While I've only been to London, and I am aware London is not the entirety of England, I see how London is fully of beautiful scenes of greenery. British people loved to garden as a long lost hobby and even though young people don't garden, you still see beautiful areas such as Hyde Park. Sitting in the Rose Garden at Hyde Park or walking in the sunken garden in front of Kensington Palace is just wonderful. I'm sorry you found Korea so stifling and limiting. I'm sorry you found so little advancement in your career. If it is any consolation, native Koreans themselves commit suicide a lot because they themselves never find career advancement and face societal shame. Korea treats everyone badly and is misery inducing for everyone, foreign or natuve. You are a bright, well spoken, attractive young woman and I think you should try your luck with UK. And London is super dog friendly, you can take your dog on the tube! Again London isn't perfect (extremely expensive rent) but people are open minded and willing to try new things. Korea doesn't feel like home precisely because Korea doesn't try to welcome you as one in their home, so don't give your best to korea!

    half Korean born outside of Korea here, I absolutely agree with every points you stressed out in the video. People here can't even understand how I can also be a Korean person but not having been born in Korea... Not to mention every time I'm warned not to eat pork because this very person pretends to see me for the first time in her life thinking I am a Muslim. Moreover, I am also referred here as "ALIEN" on my personal page on the official kor gov immigration control web site and some personal documents. I also gotta admit that this crazy 'stuff' is widespread across the entire Asia no matter which part of it you are that is Far East, Middle East etc. prolly the reason why here there will never be something like EU in ...centuries to come

    Hey friend! Given you’re still a UK citizen (I assume? Perhaps a bold assumption!) you could enroll in a UK uni and study by distance. I finished my Masters last year (fully distance even pre-COVID) and a large chunk of my fellow students were based in different countries even though they were studying at an Australian uni. Just a thought!

    I rarely ever see homeless people unless traveling to certain states. That's not to say that there are none near me, but the local government handles it differently AND we are involved in multiple local shelters/centers that focus on getting people back on their feet rather than handing out freebies to get them by for the day. There is an abundance of organizations NOT of the government, but of the the people, that are focused on helping make a difference in the lives of people. Noticing these glaring differences also impacts how I - and many - vote.

      @@thecherryroyalbecause it's profitable. There are entire Industries government and non-government that pop up around homelessness and they get millions of dollars every year. If they solved the homelessness situation, they would be out of jobs. So it becomes an endless cycle of more and more funding and nothing getting fixed.
